Reservation Information
  • All reservation requests must be submitted through our online system
    • If reserving for an organization, please submit your request through your organizational account.
    • If reserving for personal use, please submit your request through your household account.
    • Organization requests will require a Certificate of Insurance with the Town named as an Additional Insured in the amounts of $1M/$2M.
    • If requesting to use a tent, you must contact Town of Barnstable Structures & Grounds (508) 790-6320 and the Building Department (508) 790-6230 for additional permitting. The Town does not provide tents.
    • If the use of the facility involves a caterer or the sale/serving of food to the public, you must contact the Board of Health (508) 862-4644 to obtain a Food Service License.

Fees
  • Resident: $25/hour
  • Non-Resident: $50/hour
Rentals are scheduled and billed in full hour increments.

  • Barnstable Youth Sports Programs
  • Barnstable Adult/Senior League Programs
  • All Other Groups

Field Information
  • Field assignment and allocation will be managed by the Recreation Director or his/her designee. The Town reserves the right to reschedule/relocate permit holder’s activities.  The Town will make every effort to notify users in a timely manner of any closures or delayed openings.
  • Regardless of current weather conditions, practices/games shall not commence or continue if:
    • The facility has been closed by the Recreation Director or his/her designee.
    • The field has standing water.
    • The field is saturated with water.
    • The field is deemed unsafe by the Town.
  • Once a game begins, the referee, umpire or league official is responsible for the decision to suspend a game due to the above or other conditions.
  • All organizations must follow the above guidelines in their decision-making regarding cancellations.

Permit Holder Responsibilities
  • The permit holder or representative of the organization must be on-site at all permitted times, have a copy of the permit with them. This person is responsible for the actions of all participants and spectators.
  • The Town has a carry-in, carry-out policy for all locations where trash receptacles are not provided. The permit holder is responsible for all clean-up at the facility.

General Information
  • No sharp objects, including but not limited to: tent stakes, corner flags or other objects that penetrate the surface of the field may be used without prior permission.
  • An event requiring a police detail (as determined by Barnstable Police Department) will result in all associated detail fees being assessed to the permit holder.
  • A Permit may not be sub-let to a different organization. Unauthorized permit sub-letting will result in an immediate loss of the permit.
  • Fees will be assessed to the permit holder for repair costs including labor and materials for damage caused to the facility.
  • Parking is allowed in designated areas only; the permit holder needs to ensure there are no vehicles on the fields, and all fire lanes remain clear of parked vehicles. Vehicles parked illegally may be ticketed or towed.
  • Users must leave the facility within 30 minutes after the end of the permitted time.
  • Any keys issued may not be duplicated. All keys must be returned to the Recreation Division within 48 hours of the last scheduled use.  A fee of $10/key will be assessed for any lost keys.
  • Use of controlled substances including but not limited to alcohol, tobacco and vape products is prohibited.
  • No animals, except for service animals, are allowed at outdoor recreation areas.
  • Each organization must appoint a contact person who will be accessible via email and phone. This person will be responsible for disseminating information from the Town regarding closures, issues or other information.
  • The Town of Barnstable reserves the right to close facilities
  • The Town prohibits the sale and/or distribution of goods without prior written authorization. This includes but is not limited to fundraising activities, concessions, etc.
  • Failure to adhere to any of the policies and procedures set forth by the Town of Barnstable may result in an organization’s permit being revoked. Fees are not refunded or adjusted for revoked permits. 
  • Any organization that has a permit revoked must wait one year from the date of revocation before applying for a new permit.
