Location Information
This school property area is scheduled by the Barnstable Recreation Division.  Here you will find instructions on how to submit a reservation request, as well as important Recreation Division policies that pertain to this facility area.

Reservation Information
  • All reservation requests must be submitted through our online system
    • If reserving for an organization, please submit your request through your organizational account.
    • If reserving for personal use, please submit your request through your household account.
    • Organization requests will require a Certificate of Insurance with the Town named as an Additional Insured in the amounts of $1M/$2M.
    • If requesting to use a tent, you must contact Town of Barnstable Structures & Grounds (508) 790-6320 and the Building Department (508) 790-6230 for additional permitting. The Town does not provide tents.
    • If the use of the facility involves a caterer or the sale/serving of food to the public, you must contact the Board of Health (508) 862-4644 to obtain a Food Service License.

Court Information
  • Court assignment and allocation will be managed by the Recreation Director or his/her designee. The Town reserves the right to reschedule/relocate permit holder’s activities.  The Town will make every effort to notify users in a timely manner of any closures or delayed openings.
  • Regardless of current weather conditions, court usage shall not commence or continue if:
    • The facility has been closed by the Recreation Director or his/her designee.
    • The court has standing water.
    • The court is deemed unsafe by the Town.
  • No shoveling or salting/sanding of courts.
  • All users must follow the above guidelines in their decision-making regarding cancellations.

Permit Holder Responsibilities
  • The permit holder or representative of the organization must be on-site at all permitted times, have a copy of the permit with them. This person is responsible for the actions of all participants and spectators.
  • The Town has a carry-in, carry-out policy for all locations where trash receptacles are not provided. The permit holder is responsible for all clean-up at the facility.

  • Courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis except when there is an approved Recreation/School event and/or activity.
  • Tennis and pickleball are the only activities permitted on the courts unless sponsored and/or approved by the Town of Barnstable.
  • The Town has a carry-in. carry-out policy for trash.  All trash must be removed from the court area and placed in proper trash receptacles or removed from the location.
  • An event requiring a police detail (as determined by Barnstable Police Department) will result in all associated detail fees being assessed to the permit holder.
  • A permit may not be sub-let to a different organization.  Unauthorized permit sub-letting will result in an immediate loss of the permit.
  • Fees will be assessed to the permit holder for repair costs including labor and materials for damage caused to the facility.
  • Parking is allowed in designated areas only; the permit holder needs to ensure there are no vehicles on the grass, and all fire lanes remain clear of parked vehicles.  Vehicles parked illegally may be ticketed or towed.
  • Each organization must appoint a contact person who will be accessible via email and phone. This person will be responsible for disseminating information from the Town regarding closures, issues, or other information.
  • The Town of Barnstable reserves the right to close facilities.
  • The Town prohibits the sale and/or distribution of goods without prior written authorization. This includes but is not limited to fundraising activities, concessions, etc.
  • Failure to adhere to any of the policies and procedures set forth by the Town of Barnstable may result in an organization's permit being revoked.  Fees are not refunded or adjusted for revoked permits.
  • Any organization that has a permit revoked must wait one year from the date of revocation before applying for a new permit.
  • The following items and activities are prohibited:
    • Bicycles, skateboards, skates, scooters, and other wheeled apparatus.
    • All non-racquet activities.
    • No animals, except service animals, are allowed at outdoor recreation areas.
    • Alcohol, tobacco, vaping or use of any controlled substance.
    • Glass containers.
    • Private or group instruction, organized events, or solicitation unless sponsored and/or approved by the Town of Barnstable.
