Boys Basketball: Grades K-8
Program Content:
Kindergarten-Grade 3: This instructional program teaches the proper fundamentals of basketball. The program will start with a training camp that focuses on learning and practicing the skills of passing, dribbling, shooting, defense, teamwork and more. After the training camp we will play games. Hoops will be lowered to accommodate players.
Grades 4 & 5: Players will come to the BUES gym at dismissal time. The program will start with a training camp that includes practicing dribbling, shooting, passing, defensive skills and more. Training camp will end with scrimmages to evaluate the players for making teams. The remainder of the program will consist of games. The season will end with playoffs and a championship. All skill levels are welcome.
Grades 6-8: This program will operate as a 4-team, full court league if we get enough registrations. If not it will be a 3 vs. 3 half-court league. The program will start with an evaluation period where coaches will assess the players’ skills through drills and scrimmages. The remainder of the program will consist of games. The season will end with playoffs and a championship. All skill levels are welcome.
Registration Information:
- Online registration is available beginning at 8:45 AM on Thursday, November 5 for Residents and Thursday, November 12 for Non-Residents.
- Walk-in registration hours are Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 4:00 PM, at 141 Bassett Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
- Registration is ongoing until the program is full.
Requirements:
- Boys in grades K-8
- Participants should wear athletic attire. Sneakers are required.
- Participants should bring a water bottle.
Fees:
Payment in full must be received prior to the start of the program. Financial Aid is available for qualified households. Forms are located on the Recreation/HYCC websites or at the front desk of the Hyannis Youth & Community Center.

Refund Policy:
Prior to the start of the program, refunds will be given minus a $10 Administration Fee. Refunds are not issued on or after the start of the program.
