Tennis: Grades 1-8
Program Content:
This tennis program is a fun, beginner-friendly program designed to help players in Grades 1-8 learn and develop the skills needed to serve, rally, and play the game of tennis. The program is geared toward all skill levels and will include instruction, hitting practice, skill review, and opportunities to put what participants have learned into game play.
Participants will work on fundamentals tennis through fun and engaging activities designed to build confidence and help players successfully learn the game at their own pace. Once participants have developed the necessary skills, they will have opportunities to rally and play fun matches with other players in the program.
The program uses modified tennis balls, court sizes, and age-appropriate rackets to make learning tennis easier and more enjoyable for young players.
All first-time participants attending their first session receive and keep a new age -appropriate racket
Registration Information:
- Walk-in registration hours are Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 4:00 PM, at 141 Bassett Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
- Online registration is available beginning at 8:45 AM on the first day of registration for Residents and Non-Residents and ongoing until the program is full.
- Resident: Wednesday, September 9, 2026
- Non-Resident: Wednesday, September 16, 2026
Requirements:
- Participants must be in Grades 1-8.
- Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing and sneakers.
- Participants should bring a water bottle.
- Returning participants should bring their tennis racket if they have previously received one.
- All players will be provided a tennis racket to borrow. If you do not bring your own.
Fees:
Payment in full must be received prior to the start of the program. Financial Aid is available for qualified households. Forms are located on the Recreation/HYCC websites or at the front desk of the Hyannis Youth & Community Center.

Refund Policy:
Prior to the start of the program, refunds will be given minus a $10 Administration Fee. Refunds are not issued on or after the start of the program.
