Program Content:
The Barnstable Recreation Summer Volleyball Program is one of our most reputable offerings, designed to introduce volleyball skills to youngsters in a fun and informative environment. Our primary goals are to develop an enjoyment of the game and teach proper techniques and rules. Participants will learn to serve, pass, set, hit, and engage in fun situational games.
Coach Tom Turco Bio:
Coach Turco is currently the Girls' Volleyball Coach at Barnstable High School and the Director of the Cape Cod Junior Olympics Volleyball Program. He holds training through the CAP (Coaches Accreditation Program) and has led his high school girls’ team to 18 Division I State Championship victories with an overall record of 694-96 (88% winning percentage ). Coach Turco has earned numerous accolades, including being named the Boston Globe Division I Volleyball Coach of the Year and the American Volleyball Coaches Association National High School Coach of the Year in 2009.
Registration Information:
- Resident: Tuesday, April 7
- Non-Resident: Tuesday, April 14
- Walk-in registration hours are Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 4:00 PM, at 141 Bassett Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
- Online registration is available beginning at 8:45 AM on the first day of registration for Residents and Non-Residents and ongoing until the program is full.
Requirements:
- Participants in Grades 2-8.
- Participants should wear athletic attire. Sneakers are required.
- Participants should bring lunch and snacks.
- Participants should bring a water bottle.
Fees:
Payment in full must be received prior to the start of the program. Financial Aid is available for qualified households. Forms are located on the Recreation/HYCC websites or at the front desk of the Hyannis Youth & Community Center.
Schedules:
Please check specific program dates, times, and locations. Recreation staff will contact participants for any changes to the program.
Refund Policy:
Prior to the start of the program, refunds will be given minus a $10 Administration Fee. Refunds are not issued on or after the start of the program.
