Program Content:
This program provides participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for cardiac and breathing emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.
Registration Information:
- Residents/Non-residents: Wednesday, March 18
- Walk-in registration hours are Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 4:00 PM, at 141 Bassett Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
- Online registration is available beginning at 8:45 AM on the first day of registration for Residents and Non-Residents and ongoing until the program is full.
Requirements:
- Participants must be 15 years old by May 31st
- Must swim 300 meters (6 full laps in the pool), then tread water for 2 minutes, and then swim 250 meters. You must use a freestyle stroke for this assessment.
Fees:
Payment in full must be received prior to the start of the program. Financial Aid is available for qualified households. Forms are located on the Recreation/HYCC websites or at the front desk of the Hyannis Youth & Community Center. Upon successful completion of program, you may be eligible for full reimbursement of class fees! Those who complete training and are hired by the Recreation Division and work through August 16th will receive full reimbursement!

Refund Policy:
Prior to the start of the program, refunds will be given minus a $10 Administration Fee. Refunds are not issued on or after the start of the program.
